3 shops to go in berlin

Während meines Trips bin auf drei Geschäfte getroffen, die mich nachhaltig beeindruckt haben, und deshalb möchte ich sie euch heute vorstellen:

During my trip to Berlin I discovered three shops that left a lasting impression on me. That's the reason why I'll introduce them to you today:

HUT UP BERLIN

In den Heckmann Höfen bin ich auf Hut up Berlin gestoßen. Zwei Worte, die mir sofort in den Sinn kamen, waren bezaubernd und verzaubernd. Zig Kleidungsstücke zogen mich unweigerlich in ihren Bann, weil sie so besonders waren, andersartig und doch wunderschön. Da stand ich also verzaubert vor den bezaubernden Unikaten... Die übrigens beidseitig getragen werden können, was also eine absolut perfekte Verarbeitung der Stücke voraussetzt. Auch die Materialien haben mich sehr angesprochen, unter anderem werden Filz, Merinowolle und Organza verwendet. Die Designerin Christine Birkle hat das Label 1993 gegründet und entwirft neben Kleidungsstücken (darunter sogar Hochzeitskleider) auch Accessoires wie Hüte, Taschen, Schals und Home- sowie Baby-Kollektionen.

I discovered Hut up Berlin at Heckmann Höfe. Two words that immediately came into my mind were charming and fascinating. Countless pieces of clothing casted a spell over me, they were so special - different and yet beautiful. There I stood in the middle of the showroom with all those unique items, being completely enchanted... I really like the fact that the clothes can also be worn inside out because it requires a perfect workmanship. The fabrics, too, are of the highest quality, for example felt, merino wool and organza are used. Designer Christine Birkle founded the label in 1993 and creates - in addition to clothes (among which are even wedding dresses) - accessories like hats, bags, scarves and home and baby collections.

SETI: Atelier für Mode, Kostüme & Accessoires

Das Atelier Seti ist ein Schmuckgeschäft. Aber nicht irgendeines, sondern ein Schmuckgeschäft, wie es im Buche steht. So hat ein Schmuckladen arrangiert zu sein, solch ein Sortiment hat ein Schmuckladen zu haben, so eine Qualität hat ein Schmuckladen zu bieten! Ihr merkt, ich bin höchst begeistert. Es ist schier unmöglich, die Vielfalt und Pracht der Stücke (die meisten davon sind Unikate, zusammengetragen aus aller Herren Länder) auf einem Foto festzuhalten. Ich betrat den Laden und meine Augen wurden erst einmal überflutet, aber dieser Überfluss ist mehr als inspirierend. Auf kleinen Inseln sind die Kostbarkeiten fein drapiert, und es war mir das größte Vergnügen, von Insel zu Insel zu segeln und einen Schatz nach dem anderen zu bergen. Wer Seti betritt, hat die Qual der Wahl, aber nie war diese Qual für mich süßer :D Ein Pflichtbesuch, wenn man in der Hauptstadt ist!

The studio Seti is a jewellery shop. To be more precise: A jewellery shop if ever there was one. The arrangement, the range of goods, the quality are fit for a king. You see, I'm really enthusiastic about this charming shop. It's nearly impossible to capture the variety and splendour of the items (most of them are unique and collected from all over the world) on camera. I entered the store and my eyes went completely crazy because what they saw inspired me so much. The precious objects are draped on little islands, and it was a pleasure for me to sail from island to island and to discover one treasure after another. I assure you, the moment you come into Seti you will be spoilt for choice... You must definitely check it out when you're in Berlin!

ROHMIR

Die Suche nach einem Ballkleid schien erfolglos. Weder in den großen Kaufhäusern noch in kleinen privaten Geschäften wurde ich fündig: zu lang, zu kurz, zu langweilig, zu unförmig... Als ich Rohmir, gerade neu eröffnet auf dem Ku'damm, betrat, hatte ich es eigentlich schon aufgegeben, bis ich merkte, dass genau hier meinen Vorstellungen genüge getan würde: Klassisch und elegant, aber nicht bieder; eher kurz als lang und auch sexy, aber angemessen und nicht anzüglich; feminin und körperbetont, aber nicht einengend; und natürlich mit dem gewissen Schnitt und raffinierten Details. Et voilà, dort hing es, ich probierte es an, und wusste: Ich bin mit meiner Suche am Ende. Auch die F/W 2011/12 Kollektion (zu finden auf der Website) spricht mich sehr an. Edel und extravagant, ganz mein Geschmack!

The search for a ball dress seemed to fail. I didn't find anything either in department stores or in smaller shops: too long, too short, too boring, too shapeless... Actually I wanted to give up because of all those little frustrations, but then I entered Rohmir (the shop had just opened on Ku'damm) and noticed that the clothes absolutely met my expectations: Classic and elegant, but not stuffy; rather short than long and sexy, too, but not suggestive; feminine and formfitting, but non-constricting; and of course with that certain something concerning cut and details. Et voilà, there it was, I tried it on and knew: The search has come to its end. You should take a look at the F/W 2011/12 collection (check out the website): The pieces are prescious and extravagant, simply gorgeous!
