Mittlerweile bin ich leider, leider wieder zu Hause angekommen, erfreu mich gerade aber am Frühlingseinbruch in Düsseldorf, der hoffentlich lange bleibt! In der nächsten Zeit werdet ihr noch ein bisschen was über meinen Trip lesen können, da ich noch über einiges berichten möchte :)
Diese Handvoll Fotos hier wurden auf dem Weg nach Villefranche aufgenommen - ursprünglich gehörte zum legeren Outfit noch ein weißes Jäckchen von Zara, um das Ganze farblich aufzufrischen, aber es war SO warm während der Mittagshitze, dass ich sie dann doch zu Hause gelassen hab. Der Spaziergang im Allgemeinen war auch recht lustig.. Laut unserem Nachbar sollte ein Weg entlang der Küste direkt nach Villefranche führen, allerdings standen wir dann irgendwann auf bröckeligem Untergrund und vor uns lag nur noch das offene Meer - äh, ja, soviel dazu :D (haben es dann aber auf einem anderen Weg in den Ort geschafft..)

Right now I'm back home, unfortunately! I miss Nice so much, and I try at least to enjoy the great weather we have in Düsseldorf at the moment. However, there will be some other posts about my trip because I still want to show you some impressions :)
The pictures of today's post were taken some days ago on the way to Villefranche, a small town near Nice. At first, I was planning to wear a white jacket by Zara to freshen up the look, but it was simply too hot during midday heat, so I left it at home. Our neighbour recommended walking along the path by the sea, which we did, but all of a sudden we found us standing on crumbly rocks with nothing but the open sea in front of us - well, yes, nice path :D (note: of course we made it to Villefranche in the end, haha)

a day in nice

Gerade im Urlaub bin ich selten ohne meine Kamera anzutreffen - logisch, dass so ganz schnell hunderte Schnappschüsse entstehen. Ein paar der besten habe ich mal zusammengetragen und in eine Art Fototagebuch verwandelt. Das Motto: Ein ganz normaler Tag in Nizza :)

When I'm on vacation, I hardly ever leave the house without my camera, so that's why I come back with countless snapshots after a day on tour. I picked the best to create a little photo diary - the motto: my everyday life in Nice :)

Frühstück mit ofenfrischem Baguette und Meerblick: So lässt sich der Tag gut beginnen.

Vor dem Haus führt ein Weg direkt am Meer entlang zum Hafen. Der Blick auf diesen und die Umgebung ist gigantisch.

There was a path in front of our house that led directly to the harbour. The view you could enjoy while walking was breathtaking.

Meistens ging es zuerst durch die Altstadt, in der mich besonders außergewöhnliche Gewürz- und Teeläden oder solche mit handgemachten Seifen in typischen südfranzösischen Duftrichtungen wie Olive oder Lavendel angesprochen haben.

We often started our tour with strolling through the old town's shops. Especially the ones selling special spicery and tea or hand-made soaps with typical Southern French perfumes like olive and lavender caught my attention.

Place Masséna: Hier mal früh morgens, nahezu leergefegt festgehalten. Kann mich an den Farben der Gebäude und deren Architektur nicht sattsehen...

Weiter geht's zum Cours Saleya, um auf dem Markt frische Lebensmittel einzukaufen. Ein Paradies für alle Essensliebhaber :D Ich glaub, ich hab noch nie so leckeres, reifes Obst gegessen wie das von dort.

Next stop: Cours Saleya. Nearly everyday you can buy fresh and local food there - it's a paradise for foodies :D

Der Lebensmittelmarkt geht in den marché aux fleurs, den Blumenmarkt, über.

You can also find a beautiful flower market at Cours Saleya.

Als letztes noch einen kurzen Abstecher zu Auer, meinem Lieblingschocolatier, um zum Beispiel Kakaomandeln zu kaufen (das Bild habe ich auf dem Weg dorthin aufgenommen).

We usually ended up at Auer, our favourite chocolatier, to buy some sweets. The photo was taken on our way to it.

Abends wurde gern zu Hause gekocht - hier zum Beispiel Rosmarinkartoffeln mit Fleur de Sel (und Mesclun-Salat) :)

Dinner at home - for example potatoes with rosemary and Fleur de sel (and Mesclun salad) :)

Dunkler Einbruch bei Sommertemperaturen! Ja, tatsächlich, aber wieso sollte ich auch die Finger von Schwarz lassen, wenn ich Lust darauf habe. Ein bisschen aufgefrischt hab ich es mit einem orangefarbenen Seidentuch und Lippen in der gleichen Farbe. Übrigens sind die Fotos wieder das Ergebnis eines Selbstauslöser-Selbstversuchs :D
Jetzt geht's erstmal wieder ins Städtchen - habe neulich ein Schuhgeschäft und einen Schmuckladen entdeckt, die ich unbedingt näher unter die Lupe nehmen möchte :)

Wearing black on a sunny and warm day! Yes, it's true, but why should I keep my hands off black if I want to wear this colour? However - I brightened the look a little bit up with orange lips and a silk scarf of the same colour. By the way, the photos are once again the result of my "skills" with the self-timer :D
Now I'm off to the city, I recently discovered a shoe store and a jewellery boutique that I'd like to check out :)

(1-3) das Carlton und das Martinez, zwei der berühmten Hotels auf der Croisette direkt am Meer - ich erfreue mich jedes Mal an der tollen Architektur

(4) Palmen und Blumen kreiern eine unglaublich schöne und angenehme Atmosphäre

(5) der Blick aufs Meer von der Croisette aus, Cannes' Promenade

(6) erneut die Croisette, die nicht an die Promenade des Anglais heranreicht ;)

(7) ausgefallene, extravagante Mode bei Roberto Cavalli - Cannes hat eine atemberaubende Shoppingmeile! (besser als die in Nizza)

(8-10) Mittagessen in einem tollen Restaurant in Nähe des Hafens, leider habe ich den Namen vergessen. Habe einen Moelleux au chocolat gegessen, göttlich!

the sunset

No, this is not a booty shot, it's a super artistic detail shot of my white shirtcuffs :D

Mit den letzten kräftigen Sonnenstrahlen sind wir auf meinen Felsvorsprung gegangen - "meinen" deshalb, weil er direkt vor der Villa ist und ich vom Frühstückstisch aus ihm immer entgegenblicke. Wir sind den Küstenweg dann mal in die andere Richtung weitergegangen, sprich vom Hafen wegführend, und kamen an einer großen Badeplattform an, auf der wir den Sonnenuntergang erleben konnten :) Auf den Fotos wirkt es allerdings so, als stünde die Sonne noch hoch am Himmel :D Für den Spaziergang hab ich natürlich das Schuhwerk gewechselt; meine Timberlands kommen hier echt täglich zum Einsatz - butterweich eingelaufen, wasser- und kratzfest, zu so gut wie allem passend.
Heute waren wir in Cannes, da wird's demnächst dann auch ein paar Fotos von geben!

We used the last sunbeams to take some pictures on my rock spur - I speak of "my" rock spur because it is situated right in front of our house, and I look at it everytime we have breakfast. Afterwards, we went into the other direction of the coastal path that we hadn't explored until then. We arrived at a huge kind of bathing platform, on which we enjoyed the sunset :) However, the pictures create the impression that the sun was still high in the sky, haha :D For the walk I changed my shoes of course; I hardly wear other ones than my Timberlands - the leather is soft, they're water- and scratchproof, they fit to nearly every outfit. Today we visited Cannes, so stay tuned, I'll post some photos of the trip soon!
