Soo, ich bin wieder zurück von meinem Kurztrip nach London und was soll ich sagen, direkt nach unserer Ankunft wurden wir erstmal von einem waschechten Platzregen begrüßt - wie sollte es auch anders sein :D Also haben wir den Plan kurzerhand umstrukturiert und sind erstmal zum Gleis 9 3/4 gefahren, total kultig und ein Muss für uns beide, weil wir noch nie dort waren. Nach Shopping und Lunch hatte sich das Wetter dann ausreichend aufgeklärt, also Kamera raus und ab zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten!

Einen Outfitpost wird es allerdings nicht geben, entsprechend des Wetters habe ich mich einfach nur warm und gemütlich angezogen. Da lobe ich mir jeden Winter wieder meine Add-Daunenjacke und die Lammfellstiefel von Unützer. Das Duo hält super warm, sie trotzen Regen und Schnee und man sieht einfach immer top angezogen darin aus - ich liebe solche Stücke, bei denen man sich Saison um Saison wieder bewusst wird, dass die Investition nicht einfach nur richtig, sondern absolut perfekt war und man es immer wieder genauso machen würde. Habt ihr auch solche Evergreens in eurem Kleiderschrank?

Hey guys, I'm back from my trip to London and what can I say, the moment we arrived, it started to rain like crazy - perfect timing :D So, we decided to change our plans a little bit and started the day at platform 9 3/4, enjoying the thought of going through the wall and then straight to Hogwarts ;) After that, we hit Oxford Street and went into shops we don't have in Düsseldorf/Germany, like Topshop and Urban Outfitters. But to be honest, it wasn't such a great pleasure since it was really, really over-crowded on the first day of sale. Then a quick lunch plus a hot chocolate, and the weather had finally brightened up enough to visit some sights.

Unfortunately, there won't be an outfit post for you - I simply dressed warm and cozy, and truth be told, I was absolutely happy with this choice (I really don't know how K. survived the day in her chucks!). Each and every winter, I cherish the decision I made some years ago, when choosing my Add down jacket and Unützer lambskin boots on a shopping day in Munich.  They keep you warm, they defy rain and snow, and last but not least, you are always well-dressed with them. I hate it when temperatures drop to a degree requiring 'functional clothes' instead of 'stylish clothes'. Well, with these two darlings I'm all set for up to like -10, 15 °C. ;) Do you also have such a darling in your wardrobe?

glamorous with a twist

So, jetzt poste ich auch endlich mal Fotos vom Outfit, das ich am heiligen Abend bei meiner Tante trug! Es sind allzu viele gute bei unserer kleinen Session herausgekommen, aber es war schon ziemlich dunkel und regnerisch (auch wenn man das auf den Fotos nicht allzu gut erkennt - Photoshop sei Dank :D), und bei schlechten Lichtverhältnissen macht meine Kamera immer ganz schnell schlapp.

Getragen habe ich eine schlichte Basis - meinen Lieblings-Winterrock von Zara und dazu einen einfachen schwarzen Pullover - und das ganze mit Accessoires aufgepeppt: Die Schuhe sind von Dune und neu in meinen Kleiderschrank eingezogen; schade, dass es kein gutes Detailfoto von ihnen gab. So oder so werde ich sie aber nochmal separat vorstellen, denn die Details sind hinreißend: Burgunderrot als Grundton, dazu sind Absatz und ein Teil der Schuhspitze aus Fake-Schlangenleder, ebenfalls in burgunderrot, und als Krönung eine metallische, goldene Spitze. Es war Liebe auf den ersten Blick :D Damit das Ensemble aber nicht zu steif wirkt, habe ich dazu das ebenfalls neue Seidentuch von Amor & Psyche (danke, Katharina!) mit Totenkopfprint kombiniert. Auch das wird nochmal genauer vorgestellt werden :)

Das Felljäckchen habe ich für das eine Foto kurz von meiner Tante gemopst - es ist himmlisch weich und hat dem Ganzen noch einen mondänen Hauch verliehen. ;)

This is what I wore on Christmas Eve, I've finally found the time to upload the pictures :) Unfortunately, it was already quite dark and it seemed to start raining soon when we went on the terrace, so the photo selection is quite small.

I started off with my favourite winter skirt from Zara and a simple black sweater, then I added some accessories: The shoes are by Dune and new in my closet - it was love at first sight :D They're burgundy, my absolute favourite colour at the moment, and there's even a part which is made of fake snake leather, not to mention the metallic golden toe-cap. See, the details are gorgeous, so I'll present them in a separate post on the blog in the near future. To add a little twist, I opted for another new item in my closet, the Amor & Psyche silk scarf with skulls printed on it (thank you once again, Katharina!).

This unbelievably soft fur jacket is from my aunt, and I stole it just for one picture. ;)

janosch, my love

Das eigentlich Beste des letzten Treffens mit K. hab ich euch beim letzten Post bewusst vorenthalten... Aber hier sind nun die Fotos, die von Janosch und mir auch noch an dem Nachmittag entstanden sind! Ist er nicht süß? Ist er nicht fotogen? Ist er nicht einfach zum Durchknuddeln? Und "Fünf!", also high five, kann er auch noch :) ♥ 
Schon immer hab ich ziemlichen Respekt vor Hunden gehabt; Bellen, Knurren und das An-einem-hochspringen waren mir nie so geheuer. Aber K.s Hunde waren immer so lieb und top erzogen, dass ich meine Angst - zumindest bei Spike und Janosch - ablegen konnte. Umso mehr konnte ich die kleine Fotosession mit Janosch genießen!

The very best of the day spent with K. was definitely the fact that I was posing with Janosch for some photos :D Isn't he adorable? And photogenic? I'd love to cuddle him all day! He has even learned how to give a high five ;) ♥
Ever since, I have been kind of scared when a dog was around me, or when it barked or jumped at me. I don't know why - I've never had bad experiences with dogs, it simply has always been like that. However, Janosch and Spike, K.'s other dog, behave so well all the time that I could stop being frightened. That's why I enjoyed this little shooting so much!

smile and the world smiles back

Eigentlich hatten K. und ich vor, ein paar ganz normale Fotos vom Outfit zu machen (ich steh zur Zeit so unglaublich auf burgunderrot, taupe und alle verwandten Töne!), aber aus unserem Vorhaben wurde was viel Besseres :) Denn im Endeffekt sind ein paar lebhafte, natürliche Portraits von mir dabei rausgesprungen, also poste ich heute sozusagen ein daily outfit der etwas anderen Art. Die obige erste Aufnahme ist so ein typischer Schnappschuss... Extra blöde Grimassen geschnitten, Outtakes geschossen, Witze gerissen, laut losgelacht, den Auslöser gedrückt, und ein wunderbares Foto, im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes wie aus dem Leben gegriffen, war entstanden. Danke, K.!

At first, K. and I planned to take some normal outfit pictures (btw, how I love burgundy, taupe and similar shades at the moment!), but then, something else, to be more precise something better turned out :) We shot a few portraits which caught my bright and lively mood on that day so well, I really do like the result (I don't say that often when it comes to portraits). The first photo right above the text is a perfect example... We pulled faces, told us jokes, laughed so much, took snapshots, and a great photo, literally taken from real life, turned out. Thank you, K.!

this year's advent wreath

Jedes Jahr setzt die Weihnachtsvorfreude bei mir erst kurz vor dem 24. ein. Die Weihnachtsmärkte sind mir zu überlaufen, die Kommerzialisierung zu überdreht (ich muss nicht ab August mit Spekulatius im Supermarkt bombadiert werden...), "Last Christmas" zu überhört, und es gibt über-viel in der Uni zu tun. Mir ist das alles einfach too much.

Nichtsdestotrotz hab ich mir jetzt im Blumen(h)aus Holland einen wunderbar kitschigen Adventskranz machen lassen, und ich liiiiebe ihn! :D Eigentlich bin ich ja gar nicht so der Typ für Kitschiges, aber ab und an kriege ich einen Raster, und dann gibt's das Kitsch-Komplettprogramm im Kleinen... Wie ihr sehen könnt, hab ich sogar den letzten pinken Glitzer-Elch abgestaubt, hehe :D

Der Kranz wird jetzt erstmal hübsch auf dem Esstisch drapiert und dann kann er seinen wohligen Duft in der Wohnküche verbreiten.

While everyone's already in this special Christmas feeling, I'm not at all - it's the same thing each year. I can't stand crowded Christmas markets, I don't like the supermarkets' Christmas cookies offers from August on, and I simply can't hear "Last Christmas" anymore. It's all too much for my taste.

Nevertheless, I have now bought an Advent wreath at Blumen(h)aus Holland, and I looove it! :D In fact, I'm not really into kitschy stuff, but this time, I nearly went crazy when seeing all these cute decoration items - and even chose the pink glitter elk as the cherry on top :D

Now, I'm going to place it right in the middle of the dining table so that it can spread its Christmassy smell all over my home.
